The Petrache Lab and collaborators concluded the year with its annual holiday party with remarks by Dr. Petrache and the traditional Secret Santa game where a Broncos hat and a lap blanket were the most stolen gifts of the night. For New Years Eve brunch, the Lab enjoyed all-you-can eat Chinese soup fondue at AKI Hot Pot in Aurora.
Congratulations are in order for Dr. Kengo Koike on receiving a two year grant for his sphingolipid COPD research from American Lung Association!!!
The Petrache Lab celebrated its first holiday party in Denver with classic Romanian home cooking by our gracious hosts Irina and Karina. To end the night, numbers were drawn for the Secret Santa and the unwrapping commenced. As the emcee, Erica decided on a two limit to stealing that kept the swapping to a minimum.
Karina graciously invited the lab over to her home to celebrate our time with Daniela and to say our goodbyes. We were most impressed with Karina’s delicious cooking, but were sad to see Daniela go.
